Film Developing - Basic
Procedure |
|
Here is a brief
description of what's
going on here so you get
an idea before we get
started. We will go over
the procedure more
thoroughly as we
actually get in the
process.
In total darkness (or
inside a changing bag),
you will open the film
cassette, trim the film
end and wind it on to
the tank reel. The reel
is then loaded into the
tank and the cover
replaced. The lights can
be turned on and the
film processed through a
series of solution baths
using the developer,
stop bath, and fixer.
Once fixed, the film can
be removed from the
tank, washed. and dried.
A fairly simple
procedure with attention
to the solution
temperatures and actual
processing times being
the most critical for
good results.
