Photo Printing - Basic Procedure |
|
Once your negatives have
been processed you are
ready to start printing
your pictures. You can
also print any existing
negatives you may have.
Just note though, black
& white negatives
require b&w photo paper
and b&w processing
solutions to make b&w
prints, color negatives
will require color photo
paper and color
processing solutions for
color prints.
These basic instructions
will go over the
procedure utilizing our
Basic Darkroom B&W Lab,
see our advanced
printing page for
examples on using the
Pro Darkroom Labs.
Basic film printing will
consist of placing the
film negative strip into
a negative carrier (part
of the photo enlarger),
the negative carrier
will frame out a single
frame on the negative
strip. The negative
carrier is then placed
in photo enlarger. A
sheet of photo paper
will then be placed onto
the enlargers baseboard
or easel. When the
enlarger is turned on it
will project the
negatives image onto the
photo paper will it will
burn its image in. The
exposed photo paper is
then processed much the
the film negatives where
thus exposing the final
image. The picture as
now we have it, will be
allowed to dry into a
beautiful picture for
enjoyment.
